LINSEED

Linseed is another crop that appears mostly in gamecover mixtures where it is valued for its seed. Modern varieties are usually flea beetle dressed if sold as straights. Added to kale and triticale it provides both feed and cover value.

Flowers will attract a number of insects to the crop. Most often found in Partridge mixtures as it does not give an enclosed canopy.

Spring sown from March to June the crop is tolerant of a wide variety of soil types.
