At Horizon Finney Lock we believe that selecting the correct grass for your situation is vitally important. This is why we spend time studying the grasses available and what is coming through the NIAB, SAC and DARDNI trials. In the case of Lawn Grasses or Sports Grasses we carry out the same study of the STRI (Sports Turf Research Institute) list.
Different varieties of grass are chosen for their characteristics for example if we are formulalting a mixture of grazing grasses we would be looking at trials data showing the best grasses for grazing yields. Grasses chosen for silage are carefully selected from those varieties showing the best attributes for conservation. Whilst grasses used in our dual purpose range are chosen to optimise the benefits of both management systems.
